TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (UPGRADE)

This four day course covers the Vocational Education Environment (VET) in Australia, and is underpinned by the competency based training and assessment system.  It includes using training packages, developing assessment tools and participating in validation, and facilitating individual and work-based learning.

The course provides an opportunity for trainers and assessors who hold the BSZ40198 to upgrade their qualification to the current TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Prerequisites: 

BSZ40189 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.  It would be anticipated that the student would have access to a workplace in which to conduct training and assessment and have sound literacy and computing skills.

Course Outcomes: 

Participants achieving this qualification will develop skills and knowledge in;

  • Identify individual and work-based learning facilitation requirements
  • The process of assessment and validation and  the development of assessment tools
  • Using training packages within the Vocational Education and Training sector
  • Addressing different aspects of the relationships between work and the environment of Vocational Education and Training

  • TAADEL403B - Facilitate individual learning
  • TAADEL404B - Facilitate work-based learning
Qualification Rules: 

To be awarded this qualification, the student must successfully complete 8 units of competency.

Accreditation and Articulation: 

And hold a prior BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Pathways from the Qualification: 

After achieving the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, students may undertake the TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment, or a range of other Diploma qualifications.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 

A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.
