Designing Learning Programs

This two day course covers the Vocational Education Environment (VET) in Australia, and is underpinned by the competency based training and assessment system.  You will gain skills in designing and implementing learning programs, to meet competency standards and benchmarks.

For future trainers, this course is the first step to gaining the knowledge and skills, as well as the qualification, towards becoming an accredited vocational trainer.

Prerequisites: 

There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency.  However, it would be anticipated that the student would have access to a workplace in which to conduct training and assessment and have sound literacy and computing skills.

Course Outcomes: 

Participants achieving this qualification will develop skills and knowledge in;

  • The design of learning products and in the design of the learning process
  • How to use training packages

  • TAADES401B - Use training packages to meet client needs
  • TAADES402B - Design and develop learning programs
Qualification Rules: 

To be awarded this Statement of Attainment, the student must successfully complete 2 units of competency.

Accreditation and Articulation: 

Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a Statement of Attainment in TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Design Learning Products).

This Statement of Attainment is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Pathways from the Qualification: 

After achieving this Statement of Attainment, students may undertake the remaining units in the qualification to achieve TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 

A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.
